Although the ramp is not quite finished, and the works are still going on, we were able to have a braai in our own space with independent access for Colin. He has been out on the ramp a few times, and been into the garden, but this was our first thing in our own garden. This is a bit of a big thing really, because we used to braai in the garden every weekend, and it is something I have been missing. We have been known to have braais that ran the gamut from really fancy with all the trimmings, to a simple sausage on a bun – depending on the relative closeness to pay day.
This time, we had a simple sausage on a bun with some tomato sous, but it was really good.
* braai – South African word meaning to cook meat (usually traditional sausage called Boerewors) on an open fire.
