Steampunk Mixed Media Card

I went to a class today with Marie from The Purple magnolia for a mixed media class and had such fun. We used all sorts of metal findings, some embossing powder, and some deliciously coloured waxes. I am in love with the new waxes <3.

After a layer of gesso, we laid all the textured items onto the card using the bits and pieces. These included metal cogs, air-dry clay cogs, some baubles, some texture through stencils with modelling paste, art stones, and some sort of water-proofing tape.

Then we coloured everything with black gesso as a starting point.

Then it was time to play. We used all sorts of colours of wax including a beautiful one called Peacock. It is on my wish list πŸ™‚ .It was fun to take each element and sort of lift it and create dimension using colour on top to pop it up.

Such a fun class, and such a relaxing day. Thank you Marie – this was a wonderful class and we all learned a lot.

Thanks for popping in, and I wish you a relaxing rest of the weekend.
