Day 42 – 100 Days of Polymer Clay

Day 42 surprised me.

I usually lean toward bold colour and contrast, but this all-white piece felt completely different — quieter, more deliberate, almost meditative. Without colour to rely on, everything else had to step forward: shape, texture, finish, balance.

White doesn’t hide anything. It reveals. Every edge, every curve, every tiny imperfection becomes part of the story. And instead of that feeling intimidating, it became something I could lean into.

The bee-inspired elements gave the piece structure, but it’s the restraint of the colour that gives it its voice.

This day feels like a shift — not away from colour, but toward a broader understanding of how I can use (or not use) it. There’s something here I want to explore further.
