Today Debbie and Carol were to visit Colin and he was very animated. He is feeling so much better, and even showed off how hard he has been working on his left and right arms. His left arm has almost double the movement he has before, and his right is gaining a little strength now too.
He had soup for lunch – he is allowed to have mixed liquids and if he is ok at dinner, he will be able to start on things like porridge tomorrow morning. I know he is looking forward to having proper food again soon. He says he really wants chips. 😀
The Inflatey thing in the trachy is not able to be deflated yet, and there is still quite a lot of mucus, so I think we are not quite there yet with being able to start talking for a while, but he is looking so much better again today, even than yesterday.
Debbie brought some drinks, and Colin was allowed to have yoghurt and appeltiser.
I saw the Doc in the hallway, and he said that Colin will definitely be going to rehab next week, but we will have to see what happens. It may not be Monday, because the trachy progress is not quite there yet, and perhaps when he is on mixed foods, he will be more secure to be able to go.
He asked me to go again this evening, he is really bored now, and I know that rehab will be a better place for him because he will have so much more stimulation.
Every day we make a small step forward. Here’s to one day at a time.
I am so pleased and feel such better about how we are going to move forward. He is my old Colin again, and I have missed him so much.

Wow I really enjoyed your last 2 blogs. I am excited for you with the progress Colin is making. I loved his picture with the huge smile. It makes one feel a whole lot better.
I liked you mixed media pics. I did the same with Denise about 2 weeks ago. It was such a nice and relaxing morning.
We just heard last week Thursday that my son was promoted at work and that he has to relocate to the Northern Cape. And off course my husband and I will have to join in this venture. My son is a widower and I have a 10 year old grandson. He will need us there for support. So in 3 weeks we will be relocating to Kuruman.
I still pray that Colin will get better soon.
