Day 57 – 100 Days of Polymer Clay

Technique: Flower pendant necklace

Win: Yes

Challenge:
• To use petal-like earring cutters to form leaf shapes for the pendant
• To create three different shades for the flowers to add depth and variation
• To experiment with a partial texture imprint on each flower and assess the overall effect

Lessons Learned:
• Fine cutters and maizena remain a challenge — residue is difficult to fully remove and can affect the final baked finish
• Very delicate pieces are at risk of breaking when sanding, especially at thinner points
• Resin could be a good finishing option to protect and strengthen fine details while enhancing the surface

Confidence Level: 9/10

Notes:
• The variation in flower shades adds a lovely sense of dimension and interest
• The partial texture effect creates subtle detail without overwhelming the design
• This piece feels like a balance between control and experimentation — a direction worth exploring further
