Technique: Faux Tiger’s Eye Take 2
Win: Almost
Challenge:
• To create faux Tiger’s Eye
Lessons Learned:
• I am still not getting the lines right
• The colours are tricky to blend to look realistic
• Getting the lines by scraping a tool along the slab didn’t seem to work for me
Even though this didn’t turn out quite like Tiger’s Eye, I still think it became something pretty in its own right. I’m learning that faux stone techniques are a strange mix of patience, layering, and tiny details that somehow make all the difference. This attempt taught me a lot about colour movement and texture, even if the final piece wandered off and became its own little gemstone species.
Confidence Level: 7/10
