Technique: Using leftover pieces to assemble earrings
Win: Yes
Challenge:
- To use all the good leftover pieces from previous projects to create complete sets of earrings
- To create a Cancer Awareness card for each set
- To mount each pair of earrings onto its own card, ready for the event
Lessons Learned:
- I had accumulated far more usable pieces than I realised from previous days’ experiments.
- By looking at these leftovers with fresh eyes, I was able to combine them into several complete pairs of earrings rather than letting them sit unused.
- Small pieces can still have value, and a collection of leftovers can become something meaningful when brought together with a purpose.
Confidence Level: 9/10
Reflection:
Today’s project was a reminder that creativity doesn’t always require starting from scratch. Sometimes the materials we already have are enough. By gathering together the pieces left behind from earlier experiments, I was able to create several finished pairs of earrings for a good cause. There was something satisfying about seeing those odds and ends transformed into completed pieces, ready to be gifted and appreciated rather than forgotten in a tray of leftovers.
Here are the sets I have been able to assemble.
