Technique: Marbled Hair Tie

Challenge:
- To create a marbled effect using my scraps and the zigzag blade
- To cut a hair tie to use with a long stick
Lessons Learned:
- The marbling effect is impossible to fully predict, which is part of what makes it fun
- Scrap clay has its own kind of magic when the colours start twisting together
- Every cut with the zigzag blade changes the pattern in unexpected ways
- Sometimes improvising works perfectly well, even if it starts with “I don’t have the proper tool” energy

Notes:
- I don’t have a wooden stick yet, so for now my glamorous engineering solution is… a pencil
- This piece felt playful and experimental, like opening a tiny packet of colourful surprises with every slice of clay
