Scrapbook page of us

I love paper. And stationery. And arty things. So many things I love and so little time to make all the projects. 🙂

One of the recent releases of paper at my local scrapbook store was from Penelope Dee (Indigo). It was just too gorgeous. Soft, watercolour-y and just beautiful.

I have so many photos I need to scrap, and just have not had the time. In fact, it is worse than that. I have not even printed them yet. this is part of what makes it difficult to scrap because I am not an experienced scrapbook-er and so far, have copied layouts or been to classes. I am feeling more and more confident even though (arguably) my skill has not improved, and so I am just pushing forward.

Today Colin and I spent a lazy day just sitting together doing our own thing in the same room. He was fiddling with his PC and I was scrapping.

Here is my one-page layout using the paper. I inked the edges of the pieces, and also cut out the white frame along the flower lines. I am not usually a huge fan of fussy cutting, but it seemed to need something and I think it worked out quite well. I also fussy cut the hydrangeas from the element sheet and stuck them as a focused cluster on the right bottom portion.

The white flowers also seemed a little plain so I used my watercolour pencils to darken the points with dark blue and a soft orange for the inner petal. I used a wet wipe to move the colour around and get rid of most of the pencil lines.

I think it turned out quite well.

You can see that I raised some of the flowers using foam tape, and you can see the edges of the words are inked around the edges.

Here, you can see that I outlined the white flowers with the same dark blue pencil, as well as darkening the edges of the petals to mimic the paper as it was originally. You can also see the orange inside the petal for a pop of colour.

This is what the white paper looked like before I added the blue and orange pencil detail.

Wishing you all a lovely and peaceful weekend, and if you are celebrating Easter, may it be a blessed one.

Thank you for popping in, and see you soon.
