Technique: Black & Gold Dangle Earrings
Challenge
- To create a pair of three-piece dangle earrings with a polished, professional finish
- To keep the edges neat and clean throughout the design
Lessons Learned
- I really love the slightly asymmetrical arrangement of these pieces. It gives the earrings a more organic, interesting flow instead of feeling too perfectly matched
- The gold PearlEx powder adds such a rich metallic glow against the black clay
- Clean edges make a huge difference to the final look, especially with bold contrast colours like black and gold
Reflection
This pair feels elegant in that quiet, confident sort of way. The black creates a dramatic backdrop while the gold catches the light like tiny fragments of treasure. I’m especially happy with the movement and balance of the three dangling sections. Even though the design isn’t symmetrical, it feels more alive because of it.
