Technique: Mini Figurine Sculpture
Win: Mostly
Challenge:
- To create a little pair of snails
- To see if I could create figurines that were recognisable
- To incorporate two small marbles I found into the design
Lessons Learned:
- I enjoyed making these little guys. The previous 95 days of practice have definitely improved my ability to work with fine details and small elements
- Although I was pleased with the result, I realised that figurine sculpting is a skill that requires a lot of dedicated practice.
- Creating recognisable characters is quite different from making jewellery or decorative pieces, and there is still plenty for me to learn in this area
- The marbles worked well as part of the design and added a playful element to the finished snails
Confidence Level: 8/10
Notes:
- I think these little snails are cute, even if they are not perfect.
- This project reminded me how much progress I have made over the course of the challenge, while also highlighting areas where I would like to continue developing my skills.
- I would like to revisit figurine sculpting in the future and see how much further I can push the detail and characterisation.
