Day 21 – 100 Days of Polymer Clay

Technique: Clean and simple dangle earrings using scraps
Win: Yes

Challenge:

  • Using detailed cutters while keeping edges very clean and crisp
  • Maintaining symmetry with small, delicate shapes
  • Finishing neatly with jump rings

Lessons Learned:

  • My edges were much cleaner today, which shows my control is improving
  • Small detailed cutters really highlight even tiny imperfections
  • Jump rings affect the overall finish more than expected. Even slightly uneven ones make the piece look less polished
  • Assembly is becoming just as important as the clay work itself

Confidence Level: 8/10

Notes:

  • I used a friend’s scraps from a class yesterday, which made colour matching effortless
  • Working with a pre-coordinated palette removed decision fatigue and let me focus on precision
  • Scrap-based designs naturally create interesting, balanced colour combinations
