Technique: Mica shift pendant
Win: Yes
Challenge:
- To try the mica shift technique on a pendant with multiple pieces
Lessons Learned:
- This technique creates a beautiful and unexpected result
- The subtle effect gives the piece a soft, elegant quality
- While the monotone colour worked well for the mica shift, I personally prefer more contrast and would like to experiment with adding a second colour next time
Confidence Level:
8/10
Notes:
This piece felt a little like hidden treasure
The pattern only truly revealed itself once the surface was removed, which made the process especially satisfying. The finished effect has a quiet shimmer and depth that changes depending on the light and angle
