Technique: Knit Texture Pendant
Win: Yes
Challenges:
- Creating a convex pendant with a knit texture and faux sewing edge detail
- Making a patchwork flower for the pendant
- Creating matching beads using the same colours, texture, and style
Lessons Learned:
- I really enjoy the knit texture effect and the cosy feel it gives the piece
- The faux stitching around the patchwork edges adds a handmade, almost storybook quality
- Repeating the same texture on the beads helped tie the whole set together nicely
- Small texture details can completely change the personality of a piece
Confidence Level: 8/10
Notes:
This piece feels like a tiny wearable quilt stitched together from clay instead of fabric. The combination of texture, patchwork, and stitching details gave it a soft handcrafted charm that was really satisfying to create.
